What happens to dogs picked up by Animal Services?: If the dog is wearing a collar with a Broomfield registration tag or has a microchip with correct owner information, Animal Services may attempt to return to the dog to its owner immediately. If there is no collar, registration tag, or microchip, the dog will be transported to our temporary holding facility located at the Willow Run Feed & Supply. If the dog's owner does not contact Animal Services within five days, the dog will be transported to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.

2. Do dogs, cats and ferrets have to be registered in Broomfield?: Yes. Dogs must wear a collar with a current Broomfield registration tag affixed.

All dogs must be on a leash when off of the owners’ property. The only exception to this are the Broomfield off-leash dog parks.

5. Is there a limit on the number of animals allowed at a Broomfield residence?: Each residence is allowed to possess no more than four adult animals. Animals over six months of age are considered adults. This ordinance does not apply to fish or birds.

6. Do cats have to be on leash?: Cats are considered free roaming animals, and are not subject to the Running at Large ordinance.
