Police Programs & Events

The Broomfield Police Department offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year.
Your participation is always welcome and we encourage you to get to know your local police officers through special events and opportunities.

BPD-Inside Academy

The BPD – Inside Academy is a series of three separate blocks. Each block occurs over five consecutive weeks to comprise the complete trilogy. Blocks 1, 2, and 3 contain specific topics of information to encompass all aspects of the Broomfield Police Department over the entire 15 weeks.

BPD-Inside Teen Academy

The Teen Academy provides an opportunity for understanding and interacting with members of the Police Department to enhance partnerships within the community. BPD – Inside Teen Academy is designed to be a fun interactive way for teens to learn about the various dynamic functions of the Broomfield Police Department. Teens can experience what it's like to be a police officer and explore the vast array of opportunities available in law enforcement, such as SWAT, crime scene investigation, K-9, school resource officer, investigations, or detention.

The Lock Box program provides a combination lock box to secure a key to your home. After approval, an employee with the Civil Unit will come to your home to help in identifying the best place to put the lock box. The combination to the lock is kept on file at the police department and is easily accessible by dispatch in case of an emergency.
