Workforce Development Month

Each year, the Governor proclaims the month of September Workforce Development Month, honoring the contributions workers and employers have made to strengthen the prosperity and well-being of our country.  Broomfield Mayor Guyleen Castriotta will proclaim the month of September Workforce Development Month for the City and County of Broomfield, at the August 23 Broomfield City Council meeting. In addition to the regular monthly events and activities provided by the Broomfield Workforce Center, the September calendar has been expanded offering several virtual and in-person workshops and events that are free and open to the public.

With the fundamental changes to the workforce brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become critical to promote re-skilling, up-skilling, and next-skilling to enable Broomfielders the ability to compete for the jobs of today and to support employers to remain relevant in an evolving industry. Workforce centers across the country provide a wide variety of no cost services and programs to support job seekers on their employment journey, and help local businesses find the talent they need to successfully run their businesses.

Check out the Workforce Development Month calendar of events below. On September 7, the Workforce Center will host a resource and networking fair highlighting local non-profits, and other City and County of Broomfield departments that provide resources for the residents of Broomfield. Join workshops throughout the month to learn job readiness skills, soft skills, and much more. The month will end with a Multi-Industry In-Person Career and Networking Fair on September 28. Mark your calendars and plan to stop by if you are looking for a new job, or a new career. The dedicated workforce professionals are working around the clock to ensure that Broomfield residents seeking employment have the resources they need to thrive now and in the future.
