The following City and County of Broomfield Internet Privacy Statement pertains to the information gathering practices of the City and County with regard to visits to and use of online services on our Web site. Information You Provide
As a governmental entity, the City and County of Broomfield is subject to the Colorado Open Records Act (C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq.) (CORA). CORA defines public records to include all writings made, maintained, or kept by a political subdivision of the state for use in the exercise of functions required or authorized by law or administrative rule or involving the receipt or expenditure of public funds. Therefore, you should not send information in an e-mail that you would not want a third party to read as certain correspondence may constitute a public record subject to disclosure under state law. CORA also provides that public access shall be denied to names, addresses, telephone numbers and personal financial information of past or present users of public utilities, public facilities or recreational or cultural services that are owned or operated by the political subdivision. C.R.S. 24-72-204 (3) (a) (IX). As such, contact information that you provide in that capacity will not be disclosed.
Using e-mail addresses provided at registration or otherwise, users are giving Broomfield permission to periodically send out e-mail newsletters and promotional e-mail to our users about Web site updates, and product and service information offered by Broomfield.
