Child, Adult and Family Services (CAFS) Division

Child, Adult, and Family Services (CAFS) works with children who are at risk of being abused or who have been abused or neglected. We may become involved with children and youth beyond their parents’ control and who may have violated the law. CAFS also works with at-risk adults in our community who may be vulnerable to abuse or exploitation. Our vision is to create a safe and healthy community where every person feels respected and supported to live their best lives.

Child Protective Services

CPS in Colorado is a mandated service that provides 24-hour assistance in responding to allegations of child abuse and neglect. Broomfield responds to alleged child abuse and neglect by assessing the safety of the children and helping to support families with resources they may need. Calls of concern can be made by law enforcement, schools, medical professionals, or anyone concerned for a child's safety and well-being.

Foster/Kinship Care and Adoption

Welcoming families are needed for children of all ages, specifically adolescents, siblings and children with special needs who need temporary care when their biological parent(s) are unable to care for them. You can help Broomfield children in need of foster care remain in their community and continue in their same schools by partnering with Child, Adult, and Family Services.
