On Thursday, Feb. 12, Mayor Guyleen Castriotta delivered Broomfield’s 2026 State of the City and County presentation in the Broomfield Auditorium.
Joined by Broomfield City Council members, local leaders and the Broomfield community, Mayor Castriotta stated that the City and County of Broomfield’s focus remains rooted in three core pillars: strategic partnership, fiscal discipline and economic growth.
These are the values that are the engine behind everything CCOB does and ensures Broomfield remains a place where people and businesses can truly thrive.

Financial Sustainability
- Despite sales taxes remained flat and property tax revenues declining, we’ve successfully managed structural budget pressures
Economic and Community Vitality
- CCOB’s economic landscape is stronger than ever, focusing on the industries of the future by bringing in new names and keeping our home-grown talent right here in Broomfield.
Environmental Sustainability
- Residential Waste Services Program enrollment rate is an incredible 86% of eligible households.
- Partnership with Resource Central program has already diverted nearly 7,000 pounds of building materials from landfills.
Reliable Infrastructure and Mobility
- Streets team repaired over 1,600 potholes
- Completed 75 miles of our new 100-mile secure fiber network in Broomfield
Safe, Supportive, Inclusive Community
- Property crimes have dropped by nearly 50% compared to 2023
- Officers engaged in 150 community events
- Recreation centers saw over 617,000 visits this year - 49,000 more than last year
Organizational Excellence
- 900 volunteers gave nearly 40,000 hours in 2025
