About Jean Lim

Jean Lim was elected by Ward 3 in 2019. Her current term ends November, 2023. Jean and her husband Charlie have lived in Broomfield for seven years and have two adult sons.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Master of Arts in Theology, Xavier University. Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Professional Background

Affiliate Faculty, Regis University for six years. English as a Second Language Instructor.

Political/Community Experience

Jean is currently serving or has served on the following Boards and Commissions as a Council Representative: Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (ACES), Board of Equalization, Employee Medical Care Expense Plan Board of Trustees, Workforce Center Broomfield Workforce Investment Board, Counties & Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT) and the Workforce Center Rural Workforce Consortium Board.

Jean testified for three years at City Council, the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and the Colorado legislature to protect the health, safety and property rights of residents living near oil and gas developments.

Philosophy of Local Government

Jean believes that Broomfield should provide an open communication channel so that residents can fully engage with their local government to work together for the good of the community.  Council Meetings should encourage the participation of residents in all aspects and provide as much transparency as possible regarding the decision making of Council.  Jean pledges to listen to all Ward 3 residents and gather the facts to make decision for the benefit of all.
