[ARCHIVED] Broomfield Named #1 Best Place to Live Out West by Livability

The City and County of Broomfield has been named the #1 Best Place to Live Out West by Livability.com in its latest regional data-driven report. This top ranking distinguishes Broomfield as the premier community among 2,000 cities analyzed across the Western United States, surpassing high-performing municipalities in Oregon, Idaho and Washington.

This recognition continues a trend of national accolades. The Livability announcement follows Broomfield’s recent recognition in December 2025 as the #1 community in the nation for its economy, where it was named the National Champion for the Polco Best in Governance Award.

The Livability ranking utilized dozens of data points to evaluate cities on housing, education, health care, and economic stability. Broomfield’s top position is attributed to several core community strengths:

  • Economic Leadership: With a robust job market supported by headquarters such as Ball Aerospace, Noodles & Company and Mrs. Fields, Broomfield maintains a strong economy.
  • Public Amenities: The community’s commitment to active lifestyles is evidenced by its 700+ acres of developed parks, 281 miles of trails and premier facilities like the Paul Derda Recreation Center, Broomfield Community Center and the Bay Aquatic Park.
  • Quality of Life: The report highlighted Broomfield’s location between Denver and Boulder, offering residents big-city amenities alongside a tight-knit, suburban feel.

A Growing Legacy of Honors

The #1 ranking from Livability adds to an extensive list of recent milestone achievements for the City and County of Broomfield:

  • Polco's Best in Governance 2025 Community Impact - National Champion - Economy: Named the top performing economy in the U.S. based on resident voice and government performance.
