Project Information
The City and County of Broomfield and contractor, Powell Restoration, Inc., began construction work on the Stoneybrook Drive Retaining Wall Replacement project. The work includes removal of cattails along the north side of the pond, with the retaining wall construction to follow. The proposed improvements will involve the removal of the existing wood wall and replacing it with a new retaining wall, directly behind the properties at 5524 and 5444 Stoneybrook Drive. The wall will protect and stabilize the eroding soil at these property lines.
Timeline:
- Construction Start: November 2025
- Construction Completion: February 2026.

Background:
The existing retaining wall is located along the south side of the properties with addresses 5524, 5444, 5414 Stoneybrook Drive in the Aspen Creek subdivision. This wall provides support for the soil just outside the backyard fence line at these properties. The integrity of this retaining wall is crucial in supporting the soil and backyards above the wall. The work is necessary to prevent major failure of the wall and the surrounding ground at the residential properties. Failure would also negatively affect the holding capacity of the stormwater retention pond.
