Background Information

The W. 120th Avenue Complete Streets project is located in an area termed "Original Broomfield" because it was the first area in Broomfield to develop, and W. 120th Avenue Local was one of the first streets to be built.  Today, it is a substandard roadway facility with poor drainage, inadequate street lighting, and non-existent pedestrian/bicycle facilities.  This historically rich area is bisected on all sides by large highways, effectively cutting it off from the rest of the city.  This project aims to mitigate some of these transportation barriers and connect this neighborhood to the local and regional multimodal transportation network by installing bike lanes, detached sidewalks, drainage improvements, and street lighting.
