Water Conservation - Winter
Water Efficiency Rebate and Inspection Programs
You or your business may qualify for rebates and/or an indoor water conservation inspection if you receive treated water from the City and County of Broomfield! Making your home or business more water-efficient is good for the environment, may reduce your water and sewer bill, and saves energy, too.
Winter Water Use Efficiency and Conservation
Outside watering is not recommended after October 31, except trees and shrubs as necessary. The water conservation focus moves indoors for the next few months. The community goal of the voluntary program is to reduce water use by 10%. Following these guidelines will help us achieve this goal:
These general water conservation tips can help you and your city conserve water, especially during dry years. Always check with your water supplier for any additional lawn watering rules or any drought-related restrictions.
Kitchen and Laundry
New turf may need some irrigation until roots are established. All of Broomfield's customers are encouraged to water trees and shrubs as needed. Trees and shrubs in City and County parks will also be watered as needed. See more information about winter tree watering to maintain their health.
The request at this time is strictly for voluntary compliance. Any other water conservation measures that you can implement will be appreciated. Remember that a little effort and a little common sense will make a big difference in conserving this most valuable resource.
