Adult Learning
Career Online High School (COHS)
The Broomfield Library and Broomfield Workforce Center offer adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online through Career Online High School.
To apply, you must be a Broomfield resident at least 19 years of age or an employee of the City and County of Broomfield and have a Broomfield Library card. (Residents of the immediate area whose home library does not offer Career Online High School may also be eligible to participate.) Adults must successfully pass an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, as well as an in-person interview, to enroll in the program.
In-Person Learning
Broomfield Library and CSU Extension encourage lifelong learning through assorted in-person programs. All programs are free and do not require a library card or Broomfield residency to participate/attend.
Active Minds
Broomfield Library is proud to partner with Active Minds and community experts for an ongoing series of lectures to foster lifelong learning. Free. Drop in.
inventHQ
inventHQ is Broomfield Library's makerspace, a place to invent, learn, play and build community. Programming is offered for all ages and a wide variety of interests. Tools are available for laser engraving and cutting, 3D printing, digital embroidery, sewing, vinyl cutting, small board electronics projects and more! inventHQ is free and open to all - no library card or residency required.
CSU Extension Garden Programs
CSU Extension leads in-person classes at the Teaching Vegetable Garden at the Brunner Farmhouse. In addition, trained Colorado Master Gardeners are available for one-on-one gardening advice on a regular basis in the Broomfield CSU Extension Office.
Tech Classes & Tech Tutoring
Want to brush up on your tech skills? Broomfield Library offers free, drop-in Tech Classes on a monthly basis at the Broomfield Community Center, with a different topic each session.
For troubleshooting assistance, visit a Tech Cafe at various sites around Broomfield. For more individualized tech learning, sign up for a Tech Tutoring session by calling 720-887-2350 or emailing referencedesk@broomfield.org.

Online Classes
Gale Courses provides more than 325 six-week long, online programs taught by college instructors. New courses begin each month, and lessons are assigned twice a week, enhanced with images, videos, and games to support varied learning styles.
Udemy provides instant access to over 7,000 video-based courses in business, technology, art, music, languages, personal development and more! Use the search bar at the top to find just about any topic of interest. Courses are taught by instructors in many languages including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, French, German and Portuguese.
Online Tutoring
Brainfuse HelpNow provides one-on-one tutoring and homework help in any subject at the high school and university level, as well as test prep materials for the CLEP, TOEIC and TOEFL exams.
Language Learning
Broomfield Library offers several programs for English Language Learners, as well as a collection of digital resources that includes interactive language learning apps. All resources are free with your library card.
- Duolingo is a free online interactive language learning tool with lessons in dozens of languages.
- Gale Courses offers four-session virtual classes in a variety of languages.
- Kanopy offers several language courses, including Latin and Ancient Greek.
- Pronunciator is an interactive online resource that provides step by step lesson plans for 138 different languages.
- Udemy has thousands of language courses to choose from.
