Video magnifier

The CloverBook Pro is a portable video magnifier with OCR (optical character recognition), meaning it can scan printed text and read it out loud, in addition to magnifying objects nearby or at a distance. To check out the CloverBook Pro, ask at the reference desk on the second floor of the library. Please note that you must have a Broomfield Library card and remain on the second floor of the library during use.

Screen reader

NVDA, NonVisual Desktop Access, is an open-source screen reader installed on all of the 2nd floor public computers. Access the comprehensive NVDA user guide for answers to questions.

Noise-cancelling headphones

Three pairs of noise-cancelling headphones are available at the reference desk. Patrons must leave a piece of collateral at the desk when they check out the noise-cancelling headphones.

High-visibility keyboards

High-visibility keyboards are available at two of the 2nd floor public computers for patrons with low vision. They are yellow and have bolder text on the keys than standard keyboards.

Tech Tutoring, Tech Cafes & Tech Classes (in-person)

Tech Tutoring

Sign up for a free, hour-long 1:1 session with a volunteer Tech Tutor by calling 720-887-2350 or emailing referencedesk@broomfield.org. You may schedule two weeks in advance and can make two appointments per calendar month. All Tech Tutoring sessions take place on the 2nd floor of Broomfield Library.

Tech Cafes

Tech Cafes offer drop-in troubleshooting assistance for phones, tablets and computers at various sites around Broomfield. This is a free library service that does not require registration. Just show up!

Tech Classes

Tech Classes take place monthly at the Broomfield Community Center, with a different topic each session. All Tech Classes are free to attend and do not require registration. Just show up!

Udemy provides access to thousands of video-based courses in technology topics, from computer basics to advanced coding.
