Cash Programs

The State of Colorado's cash assistance programs help eligible families with dependent children and adults with very low incomes with monthly cash payments.

Aid to the Blind (AB) and Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND) 

  • The program provides a small cash assistance benefit to low-income Colorado residents age 18-59 who have at least a six month total disability that precludes them from work. 

Colorado Works / Colorado's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

  • A cash assistance program to help very low-income families become self-sufficient by encouraging job preparation, work and family stabilization. 
  • Eligible families with a dependent child(ren) or individuals who are pregnant receive monthly cash assistance payments, help with emergency household expenses, and/or services such as counseling, training and employment assistance.  Maximum lifetime eligibility of 5 years (60 months). 

Home Care Allowance (HCA)

  • Provides a cash payment for the purpose of securing  in-home care services to assist the customer in remaining in their home. Must be receiving SSI or AND.

Old Age Pension (OAP)

  • Provides financial assistance and may provide medical benefits for low-income adults, over the age of 60 years old, who meet basic eligibility requirements.
