Pedestrian and Bicycle Capital Projects
The current bicycle and pedestrian system in Broomfield includes multi-use paths, on-street bike lanes, and unpaved trails. The community trails are extensive, well-used, and highly valued by the community. The trail system includes many grade-separated crossings of major roads, enabling safe and efficient crossings for bicyclists. As Broomfield continues to grow, development standards are guiding new development to ensure that adequate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure is included.
Broomfield has 99 miles of off-street concrete trails, 28 miles of soft-surface trails, 100 miles of eight-foot-wide sidepaths, 81 miles of bike lanes, and hundreds of miles of low-speed neighborhood streets and the system continues to grow annually.
Broomfield has made major investments in the improvements of the Active Transportation systems in the community since the adoption of the 2016 Comprehensive and Transportation Plan updates over the last number of years.
