Tree Branch Recycling Facility

Program Details

This program is available to Broomfield residents only—NO contractors or non-residents; proof of residency will be required at the gate. The site is monitored 24 hours by a surveillance camera, and violators will be prosecuted for illegal dumping under section 8.04.020 of the Broomfield Municipal Code.

Expanded Yard Waste Now Accepted Year-Round

Broomfield residents can properly dispose of yard waste for free year-round. 

What is accepted:

• Tree and shrub branches (branches more than 18 inches in diameter must be cut into 4-foot lengths)
• Grass clippings
• Weeds
• Leaves
• Pumpkins (separate dumpster available)
• Perennial flower clippings

What is NOT accepted:

• No paper or plastic bags will be accepted - if you bring your debris in a bag, you will be required to take it out of the bag in order to deposit the debris in the bin. 
• No wire, nails or metal of any kind is allowed due to potential damage to the tub grinder and risk to the operators. 
• Household hazardous waste 

Holiday trees will also be accepted later in the year. Check back for more details in December.

Free mulch is available year-round for Broomfield residents at the Tree Branch Recycling Facility. Bring your shovel and take as much as you need—there is no limit!
