Weeds can be a big problem for landowners and some may go beyond just your troublesome dandelions in a lawn setting, they may be noxious. A noxious weed is a non-native plant that is legally labeled as a nuisance and causes economic or ecological hardships on land managers or entities managing the land.
Impacts associated with these weeds are: loss of habitat, decreased land values, loss of crops, affects to water cycling and irrigation, increased fire danger, cost of control, and dangers to livestock and humans. The web page shown below will aid in the identification of some of these noxious weeds. For further information, contact the Open Space Coordinator at 303-438-6334.
