Why Drive Electric?
Save Money. Breathe Cleaner Air. Drive the Future.
- Lower Costs: EVs cost up to $1,200 less per year to operate (fuel + maintenance).
- Fewer Repairs: No oil changes. Fewer moving parts. Less maintenance.
- Cleaner Air: Zero tailpipe emissions reduce smog and greenhouse gases.
- State of Colorado Goal: 940,000 EVs on the road by 2030 to cut emissions and improve air quality.

Charging and Infrastructure
Charge at home or on the go with expanding local infrastructure.
- Home Charging: Most EV drivers charge overnight at home using Level 1 or Level 2 chargers.
- Public Chargers: Thousands of Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers available across Colorado.
- Apps to Find Chargers: PlugShare, ChargePoint, Chargeway.
- Vehicle Apps: Plan routes, monitor battery, and find fast chargers with apps like myChevrolet, FordPass, and Tesla.
- Charging Speed: Most EVs charge to 80% in 30–60 minutes with DC Fast Chargers.
- CCOB-owned and operated EV Charging Stations
Charging in Apartments, Condos and HOAs
- Colorado’s “Right to Charge” law (HB 20-1155) protects renters and condo owners who want to install EV charging stations at their own expense; HOAs and landlords cannot unreasonably block installation.
- In 2023, a Broomfield condo community installed shared Level 2 EV chargers using support from the Charge Ahead Colorado grant program. The HOA adopted policies to align with Colorado’s Right to Charge law, allowing residents to install chargers in assigned spaces and enabling shared-use chargers with app-based access and cost recovery. The project improved EV access and increased interest in the community.

EV Models and Range
Plenty of options for every budget and lifestyle.
- Most EVs offer 250+ miles of range with options including compact cars, SUVs, trucks, and AWD models.
- Prices start as low as $25,000 before incentives.
- All major automakers offer EVs, many with app-enabled features, remote climate control, and driver-assistance tech.
Looking for a more affordable option? Used EVs are widely available and can be a great value:
- Search local and national listings on sites like Recurrent Auto, Cars.com, and EV Life.
- Consider battery condition and warranty coverage; many platforms offer battery health reports.
- Used EVs may qualify for the federal $4,000 tax credit and Colorado state rebates (see Drive Electric Colorado for details).
