Sergeant Vincent Lopez
Sergeant Vincent Lopez was born and raised in Lafayette, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. During his college years, he realized that office life wasn’t his passion and discovered a calling for law enforcement. With no family background in the field, he took the initiative to self-sponsor through the Arapahoe Community College Police Academy, setting the foundation for his career.
In 2012, Sergeant Lopez joined the Broomfield Police Department, where he has since taken on various roles. He is currently assigned to the Standards Unit, focusing on Hiring and Recruiting. Over the years, he has served in multiple capacities, including as an assistant team leader on the SWAT team, a Driving Instructor, a Public Information Officer, and a member of the Her Own Hero program.
His career also includes time as a Detective in the Person’s Unit, where he led high-profile cases and was a member of the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). After his time in Investigations, he was promoted and transitioned into the Standards Unit.
Outside of law enforcement, Sergeant Lopez is a dedicated father to his daughter and son, who keep him busy. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports, working out, and spending quality time with his family.

Alex Gann
Police Background Investigator Alex Gann grew up in Arvada, Colorado. Seeking a challenge and a higher purpose, he joined the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school. He deployed to Iraq in 2007 and 2009, experiences that deeply shaped his sense of Honor, Courage, & Commitment - service to something greater than himself. After honorably completing his military service, he transitioned to civilian life but quickly realized that working in a cubicle lacked the purpose and connection to the community he found in the Marines.
Driven to serve again, he was hired as a Larimer County Detention Deputy. He served in that role for almost 6 years and became an Officer in Charge, S.E.R.T. team leader, less-lethal operator, felony investigator, and background investigator. The law enforcement community is small and he heard all the great stories about how awesome the Broomfield Police Department was so he decided to hit the road. He was hired as a Patrol Officer in 2017 and he quickly realized all those stories about Broomfield PD were true. He deployed with the Mobile Field Force and SWAT to Denver in 2020 and finished his sworn career in 2023 as a Detective. Now, he continues to serve in a new capacity as a Police Background Investigator for the Broomfield Police Department, helping to shape the future of the agency by ensuring Broomfield PD’s high standards are upheld through S.C.R.I.P².T.
Outside of work, his four daughters keep him extremely busy but he wouldn’t have it any other way. He tries to spend whatever time is leftover outdoors - camping and hunting are two of his favorite pastimes. His life has been driven by a passion for law enforcement and a deep respect for those who choose to wear the badge or work in any capacity to support law enforcement. That passion continues to guide him today in his new role of service to the Broomfield community.
