BCC Pool Closures:

*Please note, we do not offer makeup classes, credits, or refunds for missed swim lessons, CARA, or other swim activities, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.


Pool Rules and Policies:

  • Pool rules and policies are listed on signs around the pool and facility for your safety and convenience.  Please read them prior to entering the pool.
  • Parents are directly responsible for the safety of their children and must be in the pool, directly supervising them at all times.  
  • All children 6 and younger and all non-swimmers, regardless of age, must be accompanied in the pool by a paying adult.  The adult must be IN the pool and stay within arms reach at all times.  This includes children who are wearing lifejackets.  Lifejackets and floatation devices are NOT a substitute for adult supervision.  This includes all children 6 & under who pass the swim test - direct supervision of children 6 & under is still required in the water at all times regardless of swimming ability.
  • Glass containers, smoking, tobacco products, alcohol, illegal drugs, and open carry of firearms are prohibited.  All bags and coolers will be checked prior to entering the facility.
  • Please do not bring full meals to the recreation center unless you have a room reservation. Cake, ice cream, cupcakes, pizza, party subs and any other similar foods are only permitted with a room rental. Glass containers are not allowed in the facility. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome. Coolers will be checked.

Pool Temperatures:

Please note that these are the ideal pool temperatures that we strive to attain.  Pool temperatures may fluctuate a degree or two depending upon outside air temperatures that affect inside air temperatures and pool temperatures.  We do our best to maintain the temps as consistently as possible.

PDRC:

  • Leisure Pool:  88 degrees
  • Family Hot Tub:  96 degrees 
  • Adult Hot Tub:  102-103 degrees

BCC:

  • Competition Pool:  81 degrees
  • Warm Pool:  86 degrees
  • Therapy Pool:  92-93 degrees
  • Hot Tub:  102-103 degrees

Family Swim/Open Swim - Age Requirements and Adult Supervision Policies

  • All children 6 and under and non-swimmers regardless of age, must be accompanied in the pool by a paying adult.  The adult must be in the pool with the child or non-swimmer at all times and stay within arms reach.  Direct parent supervision is required at all times.  Lifejackets and floatation devices are NOT a substitute for adult supervision.  
  • Children 7-11 years old who know how to swim independently, must have a parent or adult present in the pool area with them.

Lap Swimming Drop In Use Only - Policies, Age Requirements

  • All lap swimming will be available on a drop in use basis
  • Lap swimmers may start swimming in their own lane.  If all the lanes are filled, we will ask you to share a lane with another wonderful lap swimmer.
  • Lap Swimming will be available to participants 12 years of age and older and must be able to swim independently.
  • Children ages 7-11 may use a lane to swim in as a parent is present on deck or in the pool with them.  
  • All children 6 and under and all non-swimmers regardless of age, must be accompanied IN the pool with an adult and must be supervised at all times.
