Board of Equalization

The City Council sits as the Board of Equalization (BOE) for the City and County of Broomfield.  The mission of the BOE is to assure just and equalized property tax assessments.

Colorado statute requires all assessors to revalue all properties in every odd numbered year.  State statute requires that the market value of a home is determined by sales of comparable residential properties that occurred during the 24 month sales period. For more information, visit the Valuation Process web page on the Assessor’s website.

The Board of Equalization is not affiliated with the Assessor's Office.

For questions about the valuation of your property, please contact the Assessor’s Office at 303-464-5819 or visit the Assessor webpage
