Remote Control Airfield Park

Those who fly Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) (small, electric aircraft, (remote-control planes, drones and other electric gliders) can utilize the Remote Control Airfield Park. This is the designated area for unmanned aircraft. 

The park is located at 3775 W. 144th Ave. (N.W. corner of Lowell Blvd and 144th Ave.) and is open from 10 a.m. to dusk daily.

The following are not allowed in Broomfield:
  • Flying of gas-powered aircraft.
  • Flying small, electric aircraft (remote-control planes, drones and other electric gliders) in any of Broomfield's open space areas. 
  • To fly model airplanes in any park, except at locations specifically designated by the Director of Parks and Recreation. Refer to Municipal Code  12-28-280 (G) - Certain conduct prohibited

If there is an issue with a small, electric aircraft, including drones, flying close or around your residence, please do not try to disable the aircraft (i.e. shooting, throwing an object, etc). Instead, call the non-emergency police number at 303.438.6400 to report your concerns.
