StoryWalk® is an fun and educational way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from a children’s book are mounted on posts around Bronco Park so you can walk along the path, read the story, and do fun learning activities that build essential literacy skills.
This project is a collaborative effort of Broomfield Library, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
Bronco Park is located at 3100 Westlake Dr, Broomfield, CO 80020 in the Westlake neighborhood nearby Paul Derda Recreation Center.
Stories change seasonally. The current book is A Hat for Minerva Louise by Janet Morgan Stoeke. Minerva Louise is an adventurous chicken with a great sense of humor who goes out on a cold, snowy day to search for what would make a great hat for a chicken - wait to you see her creative ideas!
The park has a playground, picnic tables, and other features. (Note that the outdoor restrooms are currently undergoing renovation.) It is a perfect place for picnic, play, and a story!
Take lots of photos and share them with us online using #BroomfieldStoryWalk. After visiting the StoryWalk®, please share your experience by filling out this short survey.
