More Information About Crash Reporting

Insurance

In some cases, it is a good idea to call an insurance agent to advise of the crash and follow their instructions. Insurance companies may request a reference number when filing a claim.

Will enforcement action be taken at a later date against either driver in a "cold" crash report situation?

No, neither the Broomfield Police Department nor Colorado State Patrol will take enforcement action against any driver for "causing the crash". At this point, the report is prepared to satisfy a State of Colorado requirement that the crash be reported and for insurance purposes.
