Residential Water Inspection Information
Indoor Water Inspection: Now Available to Residential Customers Year-Round!
The Slow the Flow Indoors program is designed to reduce indoor water use by providing free indoor water inspections to eligible residential properties within the service area of the City and County of Broomfield. During a residential indoor water inspection, a trained technician will evaluate water use and water fixtures in each house, including shower heads, toilets, and faucets. The City and County of Broomfield will provide low-flow faucet aerators and showerheads, and the technician will install these items upon request.
This free inspection for residential customers includes:
- A free showerhead replacement
- Free faucet aerator replacements (kitchen and bath)
- Inventory of leaks and summary of potential savings if retrofits are made
- Historical water consumption information
- Rebate information
This inspection is free to residential customers. As part of the free inspection, RC can do an analysis of your last 12-14 months of your water use data. The data may show where there is potential for water savings. If you request an inspection, RC will ask you to sign a release to allow the city to provide these records.
A note on indoor appointments: Due to COVID-19, Resource Central is holding off on scheduling/conducting appointments if the customer's control clock is located inside of the home to ensure the safety and health of program participants and staff. “Indoor clock” appointments should resume in August. Participants will be screened upon registration to determine the location of their control clock. Thank you for your patience in scheduling to ensure the health and safety of participants and contractors.

Increasing irrigation system efficiency and learning about best management practices has many benefits for you, the community, and the environment. It can reduce the demand for water during peak service hours and help avoid unnecessary costs to the water system. It can save you money and provide knowledge to cultivate a healthier landscape. The amount of runoff associated with inefficient irrigation and improper watering practices can be significantly reduced. This helps avoid damage to sidewalks and streets and also results in improved stormwater quality.
