Residential Customers
In 2021, Broomfield contracted with Willdan Financial Services to complete a Utility Rate Study to assess the accuracy of Broomfield’s residential and commercial utility rates to support the maintenance, operations and infrastructure related to the water, sewer, and water reclamation utilities. Broomfield City Council approved the water rate changes on Oct. 25, 2022 to ensure rates charged for utility services support current and future infrastructure needs.
The rates become effective Jan. 1, 2023, which means customers may see an adjustment in those rates beginning with the February 2023 statement. Most residential customers should see a lower bill related to their usage, however all customers will see an increase in the base rates for utilities.
