[ARCHIVED] CCOB Supports LGBTQ+ Community

The City and County of Broomfield is deeply saddened by the horrific shooting that occurred last Saturday in Colorado Springs. We honor the victims and survivors of the shooting at Club Q and stand in solidarity against all anti-LGBTQ+ violence and dangerous rhetoric.

“As we recognize transgender day of remembrance, we are further reminded that deadly violence against members of our LGBTQ+ members of our community is sadly not new. We know the toxic combination of hate and access to guns in this country leads to deadly results,” said Mayor Guyleen Castriotta. “We must honor the lives lost in this shooting and all LGBTQ+ lives lost due to violence with action. Action to address the twin epidemics of hate and gun violence."

Please take time to reach out to someone who might need a kind word or gesture. If you or someone you know are in need of mental health support for coping with the Club Q shooting, resources are available to you. Contact the Community Reach Center at 303-853-3500 or Mental Health Partners at 303.443.8500, which are staffed by knowledgeable and caring professionals. For 24-hour services, call the Colorado Crisis Services hotline at 1-844-493-TALK (8255).
