blue heading icons_bus

RTD’s System Optimization Plan will act as a route-by-route guide of RTD services through 2027. As the public transit servicer for Broomfield, it is critical that Broomfield’s current and future needs are represented in this draft plan. This Plan impacts thousands of Broomfield residents and workers that may rely on public transportation and does not provide current or future solutions for transit in rapidly developing areas. Your feedback on the draft plan can help make a difference in Broomfield’s transit future.

Currently, the RTD Plan indicates:

  • No transit along CO-7 (Baseline) or North Broomfield

  • No Flatiron Flyer (FF) access to East Boulder or Boulder Junction

  • Elimination of Route 128 that serves Midway Blvd. and Westlake neighborhood connection to US 36 Broomfield Station, I-25 Wagon Road Park n Ride, and 124th/Eastlake N-Line Station.

  • Elimination of Route 228 service in Interlocken connecting US 36 Broomfield Station to US 36 Flatiron Station. Truncating the route to Superior/Louisville

  • Route 128 and 228 eliminations will cut off Access A Ride clients who depend on transit access to services

  • Elimination of LD along US 287 one-seat ride to Denver, route is truncated at Broomfield to Longmont as the Route LBr

  • 120th Ave. Route 120 shows a weekday service span reduction

  • No proposed expansion of FlexRide to support service in eliminated areas

  • Restoration of some level of service for most Flatiron Flyer route patterns, including FF4 service to Downtown Civic Center

  • Restoration of Route 53 connecting US 36 Sheridan Station to Broomfield Civic area at Descombes

Please share with your networks and submit your comments on the draft RTD System Optimization Plan by Feb. 9.

If you would like to also share your thoughts with Broomfield staff, please send to or call 303-438-6385.
