Broomfield is preparing for the 2020 Census

What is the Census? 

As mandated by the U.S. Constitution, our nation gets just one chance each decade to count its population. The U.S. census counts every resident in the United States. It is mandated by Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution and takes place every 10 years. The data collected by the census determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and is also used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities. Why is the Census important? 

  • Ensures the fair distribution of federal funds.
  • Defines the representation of members in Congress.
  • Allows the implementation and execution of projects based on numbers.
  • Assists in better business allocations. 
  • Used to plan Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Business planning, Real estate development.

Broomfield Census 2020 Efforts

The City and County of Broomfield has teamed up with community partners to provide resources and information for residents to fill out the 2020 census. Look for census updates on CCOB social.
