Drilling operations on the Livingston Pad began on July 5, 2019.
Drilling operations on the Livingston Pad began on July 5, 2019. A total of 16 wells will be drilled with drilling estimated to be completed in the October/November time frame. To further address issues associated with odor during drilling, Extraction changed the drilling mud to a synthetic mud (non-hydrocarbon based) that is a less odorous mud beginning on the second well.
Modular Large Volume Tanks (MLVTs) are being constructed and lay flat pipe to all six well pads are in place or in the process of being installed.
The completion phase for 10 wells on the Interchange B Pad has begun. The completion phase includes hydraulic fracturing and is estimated to be completed in the October/November time frame.
On July 29, 2019 Extraction’s hydraulic fracturing contractor began using Tier 4 engines to operate the hydraulic fracturing pumps at the Interchange B Pad.
On July 8, 2019, Broomfield issued citations to Extraction, and Crestone regarding code violations related to wildlife impacts. The next step is an initial appearance in Municipal Court by these companies.
Broomfield's Oil and Gas Division staff continue to conduct frequent on site visits and inspections of all phases of oil and gas operations in Broomfield. Inspection reports are available here.
Construction of the Northwest A and B Pads continues. Soundwalls are in the process of being installed. Spudding is currently estimated to begin on the Northwest A & B Pads in mid-September.
Construction of the United Pad is estimated to begin in August.
The soil gas testing program is ongoing with Broomfield’s consultant having tested 23 wells, another 15 are pending access or locates prior to being tested, and one is inaccessible. There are a total of the 49 plugged and abandoned wells that are being tested by Broomfield.
