Broomfield City and County follows the
Colorado Retail Food Establishment Rules and Regulations, which became effective January 1, 2019. Broomfield’s Environmental Health Specialists perform inspections
, respond to complaints and do plan reviews of new or changes of ownership on over
325 Retail food establishments (RFE) within the City and County of Broomfield.
The RFE inspection
evaluates over 56 violations that make up the inspection report
. The violations are separated into: Priority, Priority Foundation and Core violations. A
Priority violation is more likely to contribute to food contamination, illness or an environmental health hazard. A
Priority Foundation and or Core is a violation that usually relates to general sanitation, operational controls, operating procedures, facilities or structures, equipment design or general maintenance.
In general inspections are a snapshot of the conditions on the day of the inspection. It is best to review inspection reports over time to get a more accurate picture of
how well a RFE
is in compliance .
RFE
inspection reports are public record. For inspections after January 1, 2020 click
