The City and County of Broomfield and their contractor, GoodLand Construction, Inc. are nearly done with the signalization of the intersection at W 136th Avenue and Aspen Street. Please expect to see a flashing signal beginning on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. The signal will flash for one week, and then go live on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The contractor is authorized to perform work Monday through Friday anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. For your safety, please observe all construction signage and any direction from traffic control personnel. Traffic will be able to move through the intersection throughout construction, however, please expect higher than normal wait times at the intersection. Alternate routes are advised when possible.
The 2022 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget includes funding to construct a traffic signal and intersection improvements at the intersection of West 136th Avenue and Aspen Street. This intersection currently meets traffic signal warrants as determined by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Additionally, residential development around this area will continue to cause an increase in traffic at this intersection.
