Starting the week of Monday, September 13, 2021, the City and County of Broomfield and their contractor, Goodland Construction, will begin the removal and replacement of selected concrete curb/gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt and the installation of additional storm drains in critical locations along W. 11th Avenue Court as part of a drainage improvement project.
Over the next month and half, Goodland Construction will be working within the right-of-way with heavy construction equipment. They will also be using large trucks to haul materials in and out of the project site. Prior to work beginning, you may see the mobilization of equipment and City and contractor personnel in your neighborhood.
The contractor is authorized to perform work on weekdays anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. For your safety and the protection of your vehicles and other personal property, please abide by all signage that limits on-street parking on W. 11th Avenue Court for the duration of the project. All residents whose driveway access may be impacted have already been contacted. The contractor will provide a final notification to these residents immediately prior to starting work that will impact their access.
West 11th Avenue Court experiences significant drainage issues due to roadway and sidewalk settling. This settling has caused problems with standing water on driveways and pathways which leads to algae, odor and mosquito issues in the summer, and icing problems in the winter.
Design for this project was completed by Collins Engineers, Inc. in July 2021 and includes regrading of the curb and gutter for improved water flow and the addition of three stormwater curb inlets.
