The 2023 Free Summer Concert Series
We're thrilled to announce that the Summer Concert Series is returning to Broomfield! Grab your lawn chairs and umbrellas and join us for an unforgettable evening of music, food, and family fun. This year's lineup promises to be one of the best yet, featuring an incredible range of talent, from touring bands to local Salsa groups, grammy award-winning performers, and world-class trumpeters. No matter what your musical tastes may be, we've got something to satisfy every ear.
And let's not forget the delicious food trucks that will be joining us at each event! Offering up both savory and sweet treats, you won't want to miss out on the tasty eats available for purchase throughout the evening.
Before the main event kicks off, families can enjoy a variety of preshow festivities, courtesy of the Broomfield Library. Get the whole family involved in the fun and excitement, and make it a family night out that everyone will love.

"Proclaiming Colorado’s Black History through song" in partnership with Museum of Boulder and Music in Common

Proclaiming Colorado’s Black History through Song is a multi-modal performance and historical tour de force featuring James Beard award winner Adrian Miller. Discover the roots of contemporary Black music from spirituals and Dixieland jazz through contemporary R & B and hip hop. The small ensemble musical pieces—some rarely heard and others more familiar—will be interspersed with short historical vignettes to set the context for the music and inspiration of Colorado’s Black musicians and composers. This program is presented in collaboration with Music in Common and the Museum of Boulder.

QUEL BORDEL was formed in San Diego, CA in 2013 with a Ukrainian, two Filipino brothers, a classically trained violinist and a punk rock drummer. QUEL BORDEL! is noted for their wild performances and danceable beats. The band has toured the US, Canada, and Europe, and they have made a small dent in the folk-punk music scene: coining their own sub-genre “world punk.Learn more about Quel Bordel.!

Come rock out with The Coffis Brothers, a rootsy rock n' roll band born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains, influenced by folk, blues, R&B and straight-ahead rock. The Coffis Brothers include Jamie and Kellen Coffis, who were raised on music in the Santa Cruz Mountains in northern CA. Their music spans rock, blues, acoustic folk, and country, with inspiration going all the way back to the beginning — to pioneers like Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers — also to artists like the Eagles and Tom Petty for influence. Jangling guitar leads and front-porch folk songs share equal space with heartland rock anthems and campfire-worthy Americana ballads, all dreamt into existence by a group of road warriors who wear their West Coast stripes proudly. This Summer Concert features one of the most exciting performers in music today: trumpeter and vocalist, Jennifer Hartswick. Jennifer’s live performances are renowned as spontaneous, joyful and contagious. Her natural charisma and sincerity shines through, and each performance is a celebration of musical collaboration. And whether she is wailing on the trumpet or singing an intimate vocal solo, her performance is all part of a single seamless instrument, one that is played not only with astounding technical proficiency, but also with sensitivity, conviction and heart.
An original member of the Trey Anastasio Band, Jennifer has performed with Herbie Hancock, Phish, Tom Petty, Carlos Santana, The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews and more. Conjunto Colores has been the band responsible for making Salsa and Latin Jazz a known commodity in Colorado. The group has opened for such bands as Tito Puente orquestra, Sonora Poncena, Bob James,Willie Colon, and Ruben Blades Just to name a few. They have developed a uniqueness of their own, becoming very much in demand at the local night clubs as well as the many music festivals throughout the state. Celebrate the final concert and the end of the Library’s Summer Reading program of the 2023 season with Grammy award winning and five-time Parent’s Choice Award winners, Okee Dokee Brothers featuring Mexican songstress, Sonia De Los Santos. Friendship is at the heart of this joyful collaboration between Mexican songstress, Sonia De Los Santos, and the Americana folk duo, The Okee Dokee Brothers. This bilingual program includes both old and new songs that span the musical traditions of North America and illustrate the collective power of singing together and learning from each other. With an adventurous spirit and a common vision of peace and understanding, Somos Amigos encourages young and old to explore, dance, sing and laugh together, hand-in-hand.
