Snow Pals Shoveling Program
The goal of the pilot Snow Pals Shoveling Program is to connect volunteers with their neighbors, who are seniors or physically unable to shovel, to help for the season. Best efforts will be made to accommodate shoveling requests, but matching with a volunteer depends on the number of gracious volunteers who come forward. Efforts will be made to match neighbors in the same general area. Once the introduction has been made, the volunteer will be responsible for ensuring snow removal at the home of the resident with whom they have been matched and staying in communication for the winter season.
Please fill out this application if you would like to apply to have a volunteer assist with snow shoveling at your home this winter. This program is available for seniors or individuals physically unable to shovel. You will be notified if a volunteer is available. Best efforts will be made to accommodate shoveling requests, but matching with a volunteer depends on the number of gracious volunteers who come forward.
Please fill out this application if you would be willing to assist any of your Broomfield neighbors (seniors or individuals physically unable to shovel) with snow shoveling this winter. You will be matched with a neighbor as close to your home as possible.
These are the expectations of a Snow Pals volunteer:
To fill out the volunteer liability waiver and complete a background check.
To be matched with a Broomfield neighbor and to introduce yourself to discuss expectations regarding snow removal.
To remove snow from the public sidewalk that is adjacent to any street or other right-of-way by noon the day following the last snowfall (in order to keep the resident in compliance with the Broomfield Municipal Code) for the 2019-2020 winter season.
- Note - It would be nice to make sure the walkways leading into the home are cleared of snow as well, so the resident is able to safely leave their home.
