About the Artist
Dr. Lindsey Dougherty received her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley on the flashing "disco clam", and currently teaches Tropical Marine Ecology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her research has been featured in over 50 news stories, including the New York Times, CNN, the Discovery Channel, and National Geographic. She recently joined the Elysium Epic Expedition as the principal scientist for coral, is an Ikelite Ambassador, and a scientific advisory board member for the Ocean First Institute. She is a photographer for the Seattle Aquarium, and she writes for Scientific American. Having worked, studied, and dived in nearly 40 countries, she is perpetually jet-lagged with unabated wanderlust. She is inspired by ocean CHROMA - the myriad of colors found beneath the waves. A portion of all proceeds from photo sales will be donated to the Ocean First Institute (Boulder, CO).
