2019 Benefits Update 


Open Enrollment Period: November 1-November 30, 2018, for 2019 Insurance Coverage 
All changes to your Medical plans, Flex Spending accounts, and/or Supplemental Coverages should be made in BORIS. 

Step-by-step instructions for making changes in BORIS.

For 2019, member coinsurance amounts for both MCEP/UMR and Kaiser plans are remaining the same at plan paid 85% and member-paid at 15%. The deductible will remain the same at $500 individual, $1,000 employee + one dependent and $1,500 family.  

We will continue to offer health coverage through Kaiser DHMO as well as the Medical Care Expense Plan (MCEP) through United Healthcare Choice Plus Network (UMR).

Important Deadlines 


Medical Plans/Dental & Vision

MCEP/UMR - Kaiser – Delta Dental & VSP - No additional action needed unless you want to waive, enroll in coverage, add or drop dependents or switch to the other medical plan. 
Changes due in BORIS by November 30th.  


Flexible Spending


Must re-enroll each year for flex spending accounts.  Enrollment due in BORIS by November 30th.
For any change in pre- or after-tax premiums for medical, dental, and/or vision are due in BORIS by November 30th.

Voluntary Life & Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)


Plans are for employees & dependents.  Elect in BORIS for new coverage or increase current voluntary life coverage to guaranteed issue amounts.  Deadline for selection in BORIS is November 30th.

AFLAC Supplemental Insurance 

Includes these group plans:  Accident Advantage Plus, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity.   Enrollment due in BORIS by November 30th.
