Construction/Hydrant/Temporary Water

ANY TEMPORARY WATER SERVICE FOR OIL AND GAS OPERATIONS SHALL REQUIRE PRIOR CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL!

Effective April 03, 2017

Contractors are required to supply their own equipment.  We restrict the provision of Broomfield-owned water meters and backflow prevention devices. If available, these will only be issued for Temporary Water Permits in the following instances:
  1. Broomfield-funded Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and other Broomfield-specific uses or maintenance activities.
  2. Special short-term, limited-use events such as Broomfield Days, carnivals, circuses, and other similar events where the anticipated duration is less than two weeks and water usage would be less than 10,000 gallons.
When applying for this permit, please be advised that:
  1. Meter readings are required to be reported to Utility Billing by the 28th of each month. Failure to report monthly meter readings shall result in a $50.00 fee per meter, per month, regardless of usage.
  2. A Temporary Water Permit is valid for 90 days.
  3. Temporary Water Permits can be renewed by following the same procedures as required to apply for the original permit.  If applicable, the Permit Fee and any outstanding balances shall be paid in full prior to the issuance of any subsequent permits.
